Customer corner
Everything a customer is entitled to see in one place — rates, charges, your rights, how to complain, and the documents the bank publishes.
Charter of Customer Rights
Five rights the Reserve Bank of India sets out for every bank customer in India. They apply to this bank as they do to any other.
Right to Fair Treatment
You must be treated courteously and without discrimination on grounds of gender, age, religion, caste or physical ability. A bank may have products designed for particular groups, but it may not discriminate in providing service.
Right to Transparency, Fair and Honest Dealing
Contracts and terms must be set out in simple language you can understand, with the price, charges and conditions disclosed in full before you commit. Nothing about a product should be hidden or misleading.
Right to Suitability
A product should be offered to you because it suits your needs and circumstances — assessed from what you have told the bank — and not because it suits the person selling it.
Right to Privacy
Your personal information is confidential. It may be disclosed only with your consent, or where the law or the regulator requires it. You are also entitled to protection from unsolicited marketing.
Right to Grievance Redress and Compensation
The bank is accountable for the products it sells and the services it provides. It must deal with your complaint promptly, tell you how to escalate it if you are not satisfied, and compensate you for a lapse in line with its compensation policy.
